Physiology is concerned with specific characteristics and mechanisms of human body that makes it a living being. The department trains the students with a goal to explain the physical and chemical factors that are responsible for the origin, development and progression of life.

Biochemistry provides a sound knowledge of various biochemical reactions relevant to human system for life sustenance. Various biochemical tests performed on blood and urine samples, collected from healthy and diseased individuals make the student understand how it contributes in diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of disease.

Dr. Suranjana Sen, Assistant Professor, Department of Physiology, IDST, Modinagar. Having 3 years teaching experience in Inderprastha dental college and hospital, Sahibabad as senior lecturer. Completed M.Sc. in Physiology from University of Kalyani, in 2014 and Ph.D. in Physiology from Panjab University, Chandigarh in 2022. During five years of research studies, focused on Human Factors with Interaction Design for Occupational Health and Safety at the Defence Institute of Physiology and Allied Sciences, Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), New Delhi. Proud to be the patent holder of the Prime Minister's project for the ERGONOMIC SCHOOL BAG, granted in July 2017. Published six research papers and eight abstracts in renowned national and international journals and also actively participated in the academic community by attending 12 national and international conferences and webinars.

Dr. Sandhya Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Biochemistry, IDST, Modinagar. Completed M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut, in 2006 and Ph.D. from Banasthali Vidyapith, Rajasthan in 2016. She has vast experience in research on the role of Proteins in the defense mechanism in relation to Host Pathogen interaction. During seven years of research studies, she has performed various analytical, biochemical techniques such as Paper chromatography, High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), SDS-Gel Electrophoresis, SCION Image for Gel analysis etc. She has successfully completed a major research project which was funded by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Jaipur in 2011. She has published many research papers in renowned national and international journals and has written a book chapter and an article. She has actively participated in the poster presentations, conferences, workshop and seminars.
