It gives me immense pleasure in welcoming you to the Institute of Dental Studies & Technologies, Modinagar. The core inception ideology that led to the establishment of Institute of Dental Studies and Technologies (IDST) by Late Padmashree Dr. L. K. Gandhi was to create a leading dental education institute that provides a transformative education experience to create leaders and innovators, and generates new knowledge for society . The core values adopted by the Institute as enduring principles are what makes IDST distinct.Since its founding year 2001 the college has been committed to excellence in education, patient care, research and community services.
Over the years, I have seen the institution expand manifold, with students from all the parts of the country getting enrolled. The dedicated faculty strives on academic development and all-round personal growth of the students. The education empowers our students into a professional life with evidence-based knowledge and sound technical skills to meet today’s challenges.
With the state of art infrastructure, IDST is well equipped with latest diagnostic and treatment aids such as CAD/CAM, CBCT, Soft and hard tissue laser to name some. At IDST, every department harbors a well functional OPD having large number of patient inflow, which enables students to come across plethora of patients in order to sharpen their clinical and surgical expertise. Our one of its kind Simulation center is equipped with phantom heads and best demonstrative aids to facilitate the students with the preclinical skills needed before working on actual patients. Students observe and perform all the procedures in these clinics under the expert supervision of the well trained teaching faculties.
The hostel accommodation gives a true feeling of home away from home to students with similar sense of warmth, security and comfort. Life at IDST blends research with reflection, scientific with the artistic and scholarly with the athletic.
A part from academics, institution ensures the overall development of personality of young students by regularly organizing extra-curricular activities, conducting national/ international conferences and conventions, various recreational trips and the biannual elaborated inter and intra college cultural festivals.
The Mentor and Mentee system is in force and is functioning effectively where in each student has a mentor who efficiently guides, motivates and inculcates the habit of good learning, ethics and patient care in addition to their academic performance. The main emphasis is on overall development of the student to excel and perform well in the highly competitive world of clinical practice.
Students are also trained for the research based academic as well as clinical oral healthcare by undertaking different research projects following all research protocols monitored by the registered Institutional Ethics Committee.
