UG Programme
An undergraduate student in the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology is concerned with detailed recording of case histories and should be able to identify different oro facial disorders including mucosal lesions such as vesiculobullous diseases, precancerous and cancerous lesions TMJ and Salivary gland disorders. At Undergraduate level the student should have an adequate knowledge about common laboratory investigations and interpretation of their results. They should have adequate knowledge about medical complications that can arise while treating systemically compromised patients and take prior precautions/ consent from the concerned medical specialist.
An undergraduate is made competent to take intra-oral radiographs and interpret the radiographic findings. The student is taught about various extra-oral radiographic procedures, TMJ radiography and sialography. At completion of final year the student must attain adequate knowledge about radiation health hazards, radiations safety and protection and should be aware of the importance of maxillofacial radiology in forensic odontology.
During internship the students are trained for interpretation of maxillofacial pathologies using CBCT and other extra oral views. They are also trained for performing routine and diagnostic chair side procedures including biopsy as well.
Under-Graduate Students Achievements
- Aradhya Sharma was awarded by the Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology for securing highest marks in the subject of OMR in BDS final year in 2021.
- Sheikh Zehra was awarded by the Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology for securing highest marks in the subject of OMR in BDS final year in 2019.
- CharuSachdeva was awarded second prize in IAOMR National Essay Competition 2018.
- CharuSachdeva was awarded by the Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology [IAOMR] for securing highest marks in the subject of OMR in BDS final year in 2018.
